On the 12 November 1996, two planes suffered a mid-air collision and came hurtling down in a small town called Charkhi Dadri, 100km west of Delhi.
The crash took place at 6:40 in the evening and killed all 349 passengers and cabin crew. Over 500 tonnes of material came pouring from the sky and landed in fields of mustard and cotton in Charkhi Dadri, India.

Saudi Arabia Airlines Flight SV763 was a scheduled international flight between Delhi-Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) and King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED).
The flight had a stopover at Dhahran International Airport (DHA) in Saudi Arabia. The aircraft was a 14-year-old Boeing 747-168.
In charge of the flight was 45-year-old Captain Khalid Al-Shubaily, a veteran pilot with 9,837 flight hours. Assisting the captain was First Officer Nazir Khan and Flight Engineer Ahmed Edrees.
Kazakhstan Airlines Flight 1907 was a charter flight between Shymkent Airport (CIT) in Kazakhstan to Delhi-Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in India.
The Kazak aircraft had departed from Chimkent Airport, Kazakhstan, as a non-scheduled flight supposed to carry tourists to India. The aircraft was a four-year-old Ilyushin IL-76.
In charge of the flight was 44-year-old Captain Alexander Cherepanov, a highly experienced pilot with 9,229 flying hours.
